A relationship with God is not about rituals and rules and doing religious looking things in certain ways. All of these have a place in worship when remembered for what they are and why God gave them to us in the first place, but what He wants from us are our love and devotion. He wants to be Lord and director of our actions, our thoughts, and our very being. God wants to join into a loving relationship with us. He also will sometimes give us individual convictions He does not expect others to carry out. Our job is to listen to and do what God tells us. That's enough. We don't have enough time or energy to tell others what they should be doing in their relationship with God.
